Alright, alright, alright my friends…

So whilst I was away staying at my mum’s…chilling…sleeping…we also decided to enjoy our time together watching some movies.
Now you need to understand (and these are my personal views guys haha don’t take it too personal or anything) I feel like German’s do value a lot of the old school stuff…Kinda along the lines of if it ain’t broken don’t fix it! So they hold on to these things as long as they can, because well it’s working fine and sometimes I do feel they are a bit “afraid” of the new, or maybe let’s say not afraid but sceptical.

Anyway so we wanted to watch some great German romcoms but my mum doesn’t really have the option to stream…so guess where we went???

Exactly a video library or as they were called over here “Blockbuster”, now the thing which most captivated me about this is that the one we visited has been there since I used to live there so we are speaking it’s been there well over 15 years!!! Take that in!!! In our world it’s hard for some businesses to even last 1-2 years but this video library has lasted well over 15 years and it hasn’t changed a bit…it has got the exact same layout I suppose the only thing that has changed is that VHS has finally vanished and you’re left with DVD’s and Blue-rays.
It’s safe to say I was fascinated, not only because this place still existed…no but because it was pretty busy as well!! Families, couples, little boys renting games…it was well visited!!

Now why am I telling you all this?? Because I really enjoyed going in there with my mum wandering the different aisles and finding a movie we wanted to watch. I loved the nostalgia, I loved making a whole experience out of something we do so easily now-a-days. I mean let’s be honest we get a friend over turn on Netflix or which ever program we can stream on and then that’s it. It’s convenient and fast, but it kinda takes away the experience of finding films you wouldn’t easily come across on those online platforms.

How do you guys feel about this? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Do you miss a good old blockbuster store to rent some movies?

So long so fine, stay sexy and see you soon.
