This got me thinking…

Alright, alright, alright…So as it so happens ( I’m sure y’all know this…) something popped up on my beautiful Facebook timeline and it intrigued me so much that I decided to watch the suggested/shared video.

Alright, so it was a video of miss Taylor Swift giving a speech at one of her concerts (yeah, yeah I know cliché..who cares). I actually decided to watch the whole video and it really go time thinking. Just to give a low-down if you haven’t seen it: She basically talks about how we always judge ourselves the worst…how we see our mistakes as damage and how we well are prone to just think we aren’t good enough.

Right so I thought about this and I love this quote so much, because I can so relate to it: “You are not going nowhere just because you haven’t gotten to where you want to be YET.” Jesus man that’s exactly how I feel…preach it sister!!! On a more serious note though… I personally feel like in todays society we are conditioned to always compare ourselves to other people and their achievements. We see all the great things in other peoples lives (Thanks to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter). We aspire to be like those people who have achieved what we dream of achieving!! But Taylor is right, we do never look beneath the surface…what has it taken that person to get to where they are…yes, yes I know some are just lucky and it just works out for them, but in most cases (and I mean in most). It’s the result of hard work and battles we know nothing about!!

Just sit back and think for a second every single person you admire for something, probably once sat in the exact same position as you…admiring someone else! We all kinda in a far fetched way are pretty similar. It’s our choice though to go up and work for what we personally wanna achieve in life. And I know that can range from just having your own house and family, to travelling the world, to be super successful in your dream career…and so on the list never ends…we are all different and aspire to different things! It doesn’t make any ambition less valuable just because it isn’t your own.

The hardest part though is…to realise that not everything happens for everyone the same way…it takes some longer but that doesn’t mean once again it’s worth less!

Taylor is so right…”Other people are really mean, but we are REEAALLY mean to ourselves!”…We are our own worst critic and if we don’t overcome this we won’t get to where we want to be!

For me…I am working on things I deeply care about…things I enjoy…and my goal is to continue doing so no matter what other people think or say, because it’s something where I can be true to myself. Being true to yourself might not mean a lot to others but it means a lot to me!!

Anyways guys, would love to hear about your passions and all in the comments below.

So long so fine, stay sexy and see you soon!!
